Abstract
This article argues that Colombian novels Our Lady of the Assassins (1994) written by Fernando Vallejo and Satanás (2002) by Mario Mendoza, tend to abandon the conditions of disorder by making their main roles the only members of the society who have the ability to challenge and subvert their cultural order. In addition, it will focus on various themes that appear in the two works: the division of the ego, search and violence as the act of annihilation.
