Abstract
As globalization continues to advance and cultural intermingling between different countries deepens, China’s cultural industry continues to grow, and its film and television dramas have shifted from one-way import to foreign export. In this article, we analyze the features of the translation of this kind of movie and TV text from the perspective of functionalism purpose theory and explore the feasibility of this theory in the study of subtitle translation, to help the translation practice and cultural exchange of this kind of text.
